Widden Stud’s perennial quiet achiever Nicconi is having his usual good season with 108 winners of over $6.2million and last weekend clocked up the 600th winner in his long and fruitful stud career.

His 600 winners have amassed over $94million in prizemoney and include 54 stakes performers headed by his world champion sprinter Nature Strip, who conquered Royal Ascot in 2022.

Nicconi runs at 72.4% lifetime winners to runners and has sired a century of Australian winners for the past four seasons including this one making his progeny a familiar and welcome site in stables all over the country.

The first Victorian conceived yearlings by Nicconi sold this year for up to $270,000 and he has over 100 weanlings to follow with a further 114 mares covered last spring.
