$1.4million Written Tycoon Colt Media World Breaks the Ice

The most expensive yearling by Written Tycoon sold in 2023, Media World broke his maiden at start four in the St Johns Park Bowling Club Clarendon Stakes at Hawkesbury on Saturday.

Ridden by Zac Lloyd for Peter and Paul Snowden, Media World led at every call to hold the fast-finishing, $900,000 Snitzel colt, Monte Veebee by a neck with the I Am Invincible filly Canara back in third.

A $1,400,000 purchase for Yulong from the Fairview Park Stud draft at the 2023 Inglis Australian Easter Sale, Media World is among eleven yearlings purchased by Yulong at the sale by their flagship stallion.

Media World is the first foal of the top-class Epaulette filly Meryl, which carried the Myster Downs silks to victory in the BRC BJ McLachlan Stakes and Group III MVRC Scarborough Stakes.

A $150,000 purchase for Randwick Bloodstock (FBAA)/Mystery Downs from the Riversdale draft at the 2017 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Meryl is proving a gold mine for the Cook family.

At the 2024 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, MG Price Racing & Breeding / Roll The Dice Syndication / Rogers Bloodstock had the final say at $320,000 for Meryl’s Capitalist colt.

After foaling a Pierata filly last spring, Meryl was covered by Pierro.

Media World a $1,400,000 Inglis Easter yearling

Written Tycoon looks to be on an unstoppable march to his second Champion 2yo Sire Title.

Media World is his seventh individual 2YO winner for the season, which has been led by the Golden Slipper heroine Lady Of Camelot.
