Stakes racing on Saturday produced a number of stakes-winners purchased for seven figures as yearlings in Australia with $1.8million Inglis Easter sale-topper Autumn Glow leading the way in the Group I ATC Epsom after earlier success for $1million 2YO Incognito, while at Flemington $1.4million entire Media World took out the Listed VRC Paris Lane Stakes (1400m).
Trained by Peter Snowden and ridden by Mick Dee, Media World won the Group III Hawkesbury Guineas last season and looked good at his second run back from a spell scoring a neck win over last start stakes-winner Café Millennium.
A four year-old stallion by Written Tycoon, Meda World was bred by Frank and Christine Cook and made $1.4million at Inglis Easter in the Fairview Park draft when snapped up by Yulong with the Cook’s retaining a share in his ownership.
Media World was the highest priced yearling by Written Tycoon sold in 2023.
With four wins and five placings from 13 starts, Media World as been nothing if not consistent and is the first foal of Group III winner Meryl, who had a yearling filly by Pierata sell for $330,000 at Ingis Easter this year to Randwick Bloodstock.
