Sebring, a Syndicator Favourite

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday November 29
Popular syndicators Star Thoroughbreds and Prime Thoroughbreds enjoyed metropolitan success with Sebring three year-olds on Wednesday.

Velocita as a yearlingThe powerful Chris Waller stable won the opening event at the ATC meeting at Wyong with fast finishing filly Velocita, who flew home from last to beat her stablemate and race favourite Plagiarist by a long neck in the 1600 metre maiden.

Velocita had shown good improvement at each of her first three starts and now that she's broken the ice will undoubtedly go forward in leaps and bounds.

A $195,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Star Thoroughbreds from the Fairview Park draft, she is a half-sister to Group III winner Nancy from stakes-winner Shalimar Sky.

Fifth at her last run in the Listed MRC Twilight Glow Stakes, three year-odl Sebring filly Black and Tan appreciated a drop in grade back to midweek company at Sandown and duly saluted as favourite in the 1400 metre contest.

Black and Tan as a yearlingThe John Moloney trained filly has now won two of seven starts placing a further two times and has more wins in store.

A $70,000 Magic Millions purchase for Prime Thoroughbreds from the Edinburgh Park draft, Black and Tan is the first winner for A Quiet Shandy, a winning sister to Group I placed stakes-winner Becerra from the family of Group I winning fillies Episode and First Seal.

Sebring has good representation at upcoming sales with 34 entries for Magic Millions and seven for Inglis Classic.
