Juvenile Fillies Step Out at Canterbury

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday November 22
Wednesday midweek juvenile racing returns to day at Canterbury with the first event on the card featuring eight two year-old fillies including an expensive daughter of Lonhro.

A full sister to Group II placed Kangarilla Joy, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly Rosadiblu was second at her only trial at Wyong and jumps from gate four with Blake Shinn to ride.

A $425,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Snowden Racing from the Turangga Farm draft, she runs for Waratah Bloodstock.

Golden Slipper winning trainer Gary Portelli puts the polish on Perfect Pitch, a Pierro filly bred to be up and winning at two as a half-sister to stakes-placed Lipizzan from Really Flying, a three-quarter sister to Group II winning juvenile Camporella.

A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Southern Cross Breeders draft for Laurel Oak Bloodstock, she won her only trial at Warwick Farm on November 6.

With race experience, Not a Single Doubt filly Granny Red Shoes looks hard to beat and may appreciate firmer footing than the heavy track she faced on debut when fourth at this track last month.

A $280,000 Magic Millions purchase for Segenhoe Thoroughbreds from the Cressfield draft, she is from stakes-winning juvenile Shoboard from the family of Group I winner Star Satire, whose Group II winning daughter Satin Shoes is the dam of this season's Listed ATC Gimcrack stakes winner Satin Slipper.

Also keep an eye on the progeny of first season sires Dawn Approach (IRE) with the Godolphin runner Gongs and Flying Sun with Miss Scorcher.
