Oaks Day Stakes-Winner for Holy Roman Emperor

Already a stakes-winner in Australia last season, Irish bred Holy Roman Emperor gelding Duca Valentinois (IRE) capped a successful day for Godolphin when winning the $150,000 Listed Ladies Day Cup at Hawkesbury on Thursday.

Holy Roman EmperorPrepared by James Cummings, Duca Valentinois charged home from last to score a resounding length and three quarter win in the 1400 metre feature.

A consistent type that has placed top three in half his starts, Duca Valentinois has won six races from 28 starts and takes his earnings beyond $423,000.

Duca Valentinois is from Fruits of Love mare Love Valentine and is one of 71 stakes-winners for Aquis Farm's Holy Roman Emperor, who is back in Queensland again this spring at a fee of $9,900.

Holy Roman Emperor also made his presence felt on Cup Day as he is sire of the dam of Johannes Vermeer (IRE), who ran a brace second in the Group I VRC Melbourne Cup.
