First Winner for Cosmic Force

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 21

Deep Field’s brilliant son Cosmic Force is on the board with his first winner after the Chris Munce trained filly Devine Force produced a scintillating finish to charge home and win on debut at Eagle Farm on Saturday over 1000m.

Placed in a recent trial, the filly was allowed to find her feet early by Robbie Dolan after jumping from a wide gate and sprouted wings over the final furlong to get up in the last stride over another first starter in Accelar, who very nearly became the third winner for her first season sire Alabama Express.

A $100,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Kingstar Fram draft for Munce Racing/Arthur Hoyeau, Devine Force is eligible for the rich Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January and that is where Chris Munce will be heading.

“She is a very nice filly,” he said.

“She’ll have a little break and then we’ll aim up at a few of those races to get her into the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January.

“She has the makings of a very nice filly and was bought for BK Racing, who we have a great relationship with.”

Devine Force was a $100,000 Magic Millions yearling purchase.

Bred and sold by Kingstar Farm, Devine Force is the second winner from Munjai, a winning three-quarter sister by Trusting to Listed ATC Breeders Plate winner Whittington.

Munjai has a yearling colt by Russian Revolution and is due to foal to him again.

Cosmic Force has sired his first winner.

Devine Force is the first winner for Group II winner Cosmic Force, who has been very popular at Newgate Farm covering 458 mares in his first three seasons and stands at a fee of $11,000 this spring.
