Dabirsim Success Not Lost on Sunday Silence Supporters

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 24
The burgeoning success of young European stallion Dabirsim will not have been lost on the many broodmare owners this spring looking to support Sunday Silence line sires at Arrowfield Stud.

The Champion French 2YO and a dual Group I winner, Dabirsim is sired by the Sunday Silence stallion Hat Trick (Jpn), who did shuttle to Australia for one season.

DabirsimNow one of the leading first-season sires in Europe, Dabirsim is to stand next year's breeding season at Haras de Grandcamp in Normandy at a significantly increased fee of €30,000, up from just €9,000 in 2017.

"He's had an exceptional year in the ring and on the track," said Grandcamp's Eric LHermite.

"Monsieur Springer [Simon, owner] has refused some very big offers for the horse so I'm delighted.

"He already has 200 mares booked for next year. We will be capping the number and making a selection."

Dabirsim won the Prix Morny and Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere during an unbeaten juvenile campaign and has so far sired 14 winners, headed by the Group I placed stakes-winner Different League.

Dabirsim's first crop that has yielded four black-type performers, was conceived at Gestut Karlshof in Germany, where he stood two seasons at €9,000.

The immense promise of his early runners has also been reflected in a series of big prices being paid for his progeny at this season's yearling sales, headed by a pair of €500,000 lots this year.

With major breeders all over the world now utilizing Sunday Silence's champion son Deep Impact, who has two sons standing at Arrowfield this spring, the success of Dabirsim is another example of the power of this highly successful sireline.
