ALLIED POWER (Kembla Grange 14/10/2017)
A three-year-old gelding by All Too Hard, Allied Power, was a victim of tempo in a small 1200m Class 1 at Kembla on Saturday. The leaders dashed home in 32.33 and not surprisingly fought out the finish while this bloke was clearly the best of the chasing pack, finishing four lengths away in third. Has now placed in all three of his runs this time in against older horses. If his co-trainers Peter and Paul Snowden can find a suitable three-year-old contest next start, he should be hard to hold out.
Career record (8:1-1-2).

LUCKY LOUIE (Wyong 12/10/2017)
This Anthony and Edward Cummings-trained filly was off the bit and under hard riding before the turn over 1600m at Wyong last start but kept finding in the straight to just miss in a close three-way finish. The run was indicative of a horse that is crying out for ground. Still a maiden but has some decent formlines and should get her chance to win up in trip next time out. The beauty of maidens here is that they become progressively easier to win the longer the distance so if she can’t win next start beyond a mile then she’s in a bit of bother.
Career record (7:0-1-2).

ZONK (Warwick Farm 11/10/2017)
Don’t see many horses win this easily first-up. Jockey Tim Clark ensured those who took the skinny odds had no concerns in the run as the Les Bridge-trained mare was kept out of trouble in the lead before pinging away for a 1-1/2 length win. May seem like an obvious choice but you only get one chance to back horses rising in grade and this mare is well above midweek company. Has form around another promising mare in White Moss (entered for Saturday’s Nivison Stakes) so don’t be surprised if she pops up in a stakes race sooner rather than later.
Career record (5:2-2-0).
