Toronado's Shesallshenanigans Impresses at Bendigo - Brazen Beau Half-Sister At Premier

Mark Smith - Tuesday February 28

Swettenham Stud’s Toronado (IRE) was represented by his second two-year-old winner this season from three runners when Shesallshenanigans made all the running National Hotel Maiden Plate (1100m) at Bendigo on Tuesday.

Ridden by Blaike McDougall for Simon Zahra, Shesallshenanigans was untroubled to hold the Rubick debutant Tymon by a length and a quarter, with the favourite Heuristic (Street Boss) a neck back in third.

Shesallshenanigans finished fourth on debut in the Listed Debutant Stakes at Caulfield, won by King’s Gambit, with Heuristic in third.

“I’ve always liked this filly,” McDougall said.

“I thought she would be an early two-year-old that’s why she ran in that race at Caulfield when she was probably coming to the end of it.

"It was nice to see her come and do this today.

“She’s a lovely filly, bounces quickly and has controlled it from the front in her races and jump-outs.

“She is still very new and had a good look around late, so plenty of improvement to come.”

A $115,000 buy for her trainer from the Kulani Park draft at the 2022 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, Shesallshenanigans is a sister to the Listed VRC Amanda Elliot Stakes winner Shelby Cobra.

It’s a timely win for Segenhoe Thoroughbreds, which consigns a Brazen Beau half-sister to Shesallshenanigans to the opening session of the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale (Lot 112).

Cracking Brazen Beau filly at the Premier

The near black filly was a $210,000 pinhook for James Bester Bloodstock at the 2022 Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale.

Their dam Segenhoe Valley (Dane Shadow) was a $325,000 purchase for Sheamus Mills Bloodstock, with Shesallshenanigans at foot, at the 2020 Inglis November (Early) Online Sale.

She has a filly foal by Written Tycoon and is back in foal to Toronado (IRE).
