Trained by Anthony and Sam Freedman, Lovetta was a short priced favourite for the 1000m and hit the line full of running to win by a length under Zac Spain.

“She’s a lovely filly with a great attitude and has bigger and better things in store,” said Zac Spain.

A $550,000 Inglis Easter purchase form the Cressfield draft for Badgers Bloodstock / Glentree Thoroughbreds, Lovetta is a half-sister to stakes-placed Regimental Band and is the third winner from three foals to race from Group III winning Redoute’s Choice mare Lilliburlero.

Bred and sold by Cressfield, Lovetta was a $550,000 Inglis Easter yearling.

Lovetta is a sister-in-blood to Lonhro’s Group II winner Souchez, who is from Lilliburlero’s full sister Vimy.

Bred and retained to race by Cressfield, Lilliburlero is from dual Group I winner and Champion 3YO Filly Regimental Gal.

Lilliburlero produced a colt by Pierata last spring and is now back in foal to Lonhro.
