No Shuttle This Year for Triple Crown Winners Justify and American Pharoah

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday June 28

Triple Crown winners Justify (USA) and American Pharoah (USA) will not be shuttling to Australia this spring for Coolmore with the decision taken to rest both stallions with a view to their return in 2023.

With his oldest Australian progeny rising four year-olds, American Pharoah has sired 39 winners here highlighted by Group winners Head of State and Pretty Amazing as well as this season’s exciting 2YO stakes-winner Tijuana.

Based in Kentucky for his Northern Hemisphere seasons, American Pharoah has had 10 stakes-winners worldwide since the start of the year and three of those are Group I winners – As Time Goes By (USA), Café Pharoah (Japan) and Above the Curve (France).

The oldest Australian progeny for Justify are rising two year-olds and many are already in work with our leading trainers in preparation for the season ahead.

Justify has an impressive crop of rising 2YO Australian runners.

The undefeated champion son of Scat Daddy has made an exciting start to his stud career in the Northern Hemisphere with seven of his eight runners being placed and four of them winning headed by Group II winning filly Statuette and stakes-placed Tahoma.

Coolmore’s Irish based  stallions Churchill, Magna Grecia, Saxon Warrior and Wootton Bassett will all shuttle to Australia, as planned.
