Zoustar Appeal Continues to Rise

Tara Madgwick - Thursday June 23

Widden Stud’s champion sire Zoustar achieved a special sale ring feat this year in siring not only the most expensive yearling sold in Australia in 2022, but also the most expensive weanling, so we thought an in depth look at his 2021 book of mares would be interesting given his fee this year has increased to $198,000.

The Zoustar colt from Solar Charged sold for $3million at Inglis Easter.

A champion first, second and third season sire, Zoustar is riding high again this year running fourth on the leading sires by winners list and eighth by earnings.

The Zoustar foals born this spring will be offered at sales in 2024 and the quality of the mares covered would suggest his stock will be in high demand once again.

Last year he covered 174 mares at a fee of $154,000 and the cream of the crop are listed below including eight G1 winners.
