Russian Revolution Moves to 14 winners

Newgate Farm’s leading first season sire Russian Revolution added a new winner to his tally on Sunday when the powerful Kris Lees stable unleashed promising colt Brudenell.

Dispatched to Port Macquarie for his debut, Brudenell as sent off as a hot favourite and delivered for punters in style.

He led for home and kept up a good gallop for Dylan Gibbons to win the open 1100m maiden by two lengths over older rivals.

An $80,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Lees Racing / Tasman Bloodstock from the Glastonbury Farm draft, Brudenell runs for a big syndicate of stable clients.

Bred by Macquarie Stud, he is the second winner for Knit ’n’ Purl a winning More Than Ready (USA) daughter of Group III winner Zingalong.

Knit ‘n’ Purl has been a regular visitor to Newgate sires and has a yearling filly by Capitalist that sold for $200,000 at Inglis Classic this year and is in foal to Flying Artie after missing to Russian Revolution the year before.
