Valachi Downs Unreserved Broodmare & Stallion Share Dispersal Live

The 59 Lot broodmare and stallion share offering as part of the dissolution of Matamata Stud Valachi Downs is now live on Gavelhouse Plus featuring the dam of four time Group I winner Tofane.

Bidding is open and will run through until 7pm (NZT) on Friday 24 June.

Baggy Green is for sale.

  • Baggy Green (Galileo) – a winner over a mile in Australia, Baggy Green is a half to Group One mares Funstar and Youngstar. In foal to Ocean Park, she is carrying a full to four-time Group One winner Tofane who fetched A$3.1 million at auction recently. Baggy Green is also the dam of Group winner No Compromise and Gr.1 Australian Derby runner up Benaud.
  • Bohemian Lily (O’Reilly) – winner of the Gr.3 The Roses and Listed Gold Coast Bracelet, Bohemain Lily is a full to champion filly Shamrocker and multiple stakes winner Vernanme plus a half to Gr.1 Auckland Cup winner Rock Diva. In foal to champion sire Savabeel, the resulting foal will be a full to her sale topping weanling that fetched $360,000 to David Ellis at Karaka on Friday.
  • Fortaleza (Darci Brahma) – a stakes performer, Fortaleza is a half to Gr.1 Diamond Stakes winner Sword of Osman and is offered in foal to promising young sire Almanzor.
  • Galaya (Galileo) – a winner in Australia over a mile, Galaya is a full to Group winner Cabaret, dam of multiple champion and Horse of the Year title winner in Europe, St Mark’s Basilica. In foal to Ocean Park.
  • Honfleur (Fastnet Rock) – a half to Shamrocker, Rock Diva, Bohemian Lily and Vernanme, Honfleur is in foal to Savabeel.
  • Red Chois (Choisir) – a winner of four over 1200m, this Irish-bred mare is from a well-related, winning Green Desert mare and is in foal to Savabeel.
  • Za Za Gabor (O’Reilly) – a stakes performer by a champion sire and broodmare sire, Za Za Gabor is a half to champion German galloper Zazou and is in foal to Savabeel.
