Juvenile Trial Watch – Randwick

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday June 14

A set of barrier trials on the polytrack at Randwick on Tuesday morning produced five 2YO heat winners including a son of Deep Field that looks another speed machine to carry the colours of Bon Ho, made famous by Everest winner Classique Legend.

Gelded already ahead of his first official trial, the Les Bridge trained Sports Legend showed abundant pace from the gates for Kerrin McEvoy to cross and lead under a hold.

McEvoy sat motionless for the whole trial with Sports Legend trucking his way up the running to win by five lengths…. can’t wait to see him on the grass.

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for Bon Ho from the Newgate Farm draft, Sports Legend was bred by Love Racing and is the second foal from former fast stakes-winning 2YO Twist Tops, a daughter of Beneteau.

Sports Legend was a $200,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Newgate Farm draft.

Other heat winners were: Secret Revolution (Russian Revolution), Ironbark Artie (Flying Artie), Zarinya (Headwater) and Lascars (Sepoy).
