This is an intriguing price point featuring two newcomers Wild Ruler and St Mark’s Basilica (IRE), three proven sires All Too Hard, Brazen Beau and Frosted (USA), plus those four third season horses Blue Point (IRE), Too Darn Hot (GB), Pierata and Yes Yes Yes.

First Season

St Mark’s Basilica (Fr) was the World Champion 3YO of 2021 and Cartier European Horse of the Year, so in terms of performance he really is the complete package and he’s by a sire Australians seem to like in Siyouni.

He was a Group I winner at two of the Dewhurst Stakes, was able to stretch his speed from 1200 to 2100m and was undefeated at three winning all four starts in Group I races in France, the UK and Ireland.

He’s a half-brother to two time Group I winner Magna Grecia (IRE), who has shuttled here for the past two seasons and returns again this spring.

Wild Ruler is a speed son of Snitzel.

Wild Ruler is a fast sprinting son of Snitzel that won from age two to four with his best win coming in the Group I MVRC Moir Stakes (1000m) at four following on from a pair of Group II wins as a 3YO.

Third Season

Four very different horses from very different sirelines with the common denominator being their price.

Too Darn Hot (GB)

Too Darn Hot was the Champion 2YO and 3YO European colt retiring with three Group I wins, while Blue Point was a Group I placed Group II winner at two and trained on at four and five to be an elite sprinter winning the Group I Royal Ascot King’s Stand Stakes twice and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes as well as the G1 Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan.

Pierata was a winner at two that trained on to achieve his best results at four and five winning the Group I All Aged Stakes and $5.8million in prizemoney, while Yes Yes Yes won the Group II ATC Todman Stakes at two and then turned in a career defining win over the older horses in the $14million Everest beating Santa Ana Lane, Trekking and Nature Strip in track record time as a spring 3YO.

Proven Sires

Brazen Beau and All Too Hard are well established sires, while Frosted (USA) shuttles from the US and his oldest progeny are 3YO’s. All Too Hard has had a hot run this season with three of his stakes-winners being the Group I winners Forbidden Love, Behemoth and HK  based Wellington.

All Too Hard has sired three Group I winners this season.
