One to Watch – Wyong

Tara Madgwick - Thursday June 2

So You Think is enjoying a benchmark season and this promising 3YO filly that broke her maiden at Wyong on Thursday may be one of his stock to follow next season as she matures and gets up in distance.

A three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group III SA Fillies Classic winner Realm of Flowers, the John O’Shea trained Denarau was stepping up to 1600m for the first time at her third start and was well backed to win.

She improved on her debut fourth and last start second to score a dominant length and a half win.

A $140,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Champion Thoroughbreds / John O'Shea Racing from the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds draft, Denarau is the first winner from blue blooded import Full Sun (GB), a half-sister to High Chaparral’s Group I winning sire son Redwood (GB) and to the dam of Realm of Flowers.

Denarau as a yearling.

Further back it’s the family of 1986 European Horse of the Year Dancing Brave, so there is a lot of quality on the page.

The weanling colt by Blue Point (IRE) from Full Sun was sold at the Magic Millions Weanling Sale to Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA)/Redwall Bloodstock for $220,000, so expect to see him in a major yearling sale next year.
