One to Watch – Hawkesbury

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday May 31

The Robrick Lodge colours featured at Hawkesbury on Tuesday carried by a talented two year-old daughter of American Pharoah (USA) that won impressively on debut.

Trained by Garry Frazer, Yankees looked to be taking on a tough task facing a big field of older maidens, but she unleashed a big finish to win the 1000m dash by a length.

Yankees was bred and retained to race by Greg and Jodie White of Robrick Lodge and is the second winner from Group III placed I Am Invincible mare Mine Two, a half-sister to Group I SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes winner Spright, who raced in the same colours as Yankees and was also trained by Garry Frazer.

Mine Two was on-sold at the 2020 Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $200,000 to Andrew Williams Bloodstock and is now based at Twin Hills Stud with Ollie Tait.
