Thoroughbreds are Go Returns to Sky on Monday Evening

Media Release - Sunday May 8

Australia’s only national TV program dedicated to the care of thoroughbreds away from racing returns to Sky Thoroughbred Central this Monday night, as Thoroughbreds Are Go embarks on a new season.

Hosted and produced by Caroline Searcy, Thoroughbreds Are Go (TAG) helps racing owners with ideas about finding good homes for their ex-racehorses and also looks at the various re-homing programs around Australia.

TAG promotes the great athleticism of the thoroughbred to the equestrian world and provides important information on caring for thoroughbreds away from the racetrack.

Fiona McIntyre and her beloved horse Precedence.

Monday’s first episode features Victoria’s Fiona Mc Intyre, an ambassador for the Racing Victoria Off The Track program, who has promoted thoroughbreds in show competition for a number of years in particular with her four time Melbourne Cup runner, the always popular Precedence. Fiona is a finalist in the 2022 Australian Stud and Stable Staff Awards and is always great to hear from about caring for thoroughbreds off the track.

Also in the show is a fun story on Thoroughbred Sport Horse Association’s new “Fashions On The Field” competitions, a great way for people who aren’t experienced riders to have fun competing with their thoroughbreds.

Isabella Smith enjoys Fashions on the Field at Stonewall Equestrian Autumn Carnival.

And the popular Arrowfield Stud “Strapper Stories” returns with a son of Nicconi who’s found a great home with his former strapper.

In coming weeks TAG will feature stories on thoroughbreds in use within Riding For Disabled, hear about the Hong Kong program of rehoming thoroughbreds through a NSW farm. Wyong trainer Kim Waugh is a passionate advocate for the thoroughbred and will appear in episode two with her thoughts on caring for the breed.

Young showjumper Jasmine Haynes, now a track rider with the Chris Waller stable will explain how equestrian riders can take their love of thoroughbreds into a racing stable, expanding their knowledge of the breed to assist with their off track lives. And well known nutritionist Caroline Foote will provide more information for keeping your thoroughbred in perfect health after it leaves a racing or breeding stable.

TAB has returned as the program’s major sponsor with other organisations supporting TAG including, Inglis, Arrowfield Stud, Thoroughbred Breeders’ Australia, Kingstar Farm, Chris Waller Racing and Godolphin Lifetime Care.

Thoroughbreds Are Go can be seen live at 7.30pm from Monday May 9 on Sky Thoroughbred Central (Foxtel Ch 528) and is streamed live as it airs on Sky on racingnsw.com.au

It can also be found on Caroline Searcy’s Youtube Channel to catch up on episodes through the year.
