Stakes Double for I Am Invincible

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 7

I Am Invincible was in hot form on Saturday with a new 2YO stakes-winner in Nettuno and then another new stakes-winner at Gosford when improving 4YO Blondeau took on a big field in the $200,000 Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) and emerged triumphant.

Trained by Chris Waller, Blondeau was Group II placed as a juvenile and was fourth in the Silver Eagle last spring, but looks set for his best ever campaign judging by this terrific return.

Blondeau hit the line hard with the benefit of an inside rails run to win by a head taking his overall record to five wins and nine placings from 23 starts with earnings topping $519,000 in prizemoney.

Blondeau was a $360,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Baramul Stud draft for Waller Racing/Mulcaster Bloodstock and is the first foal of Bit of Cheek, a winning More Than Ready (USA) daughter of Group I winner Cheeky Choice.

Bit of Cheek has a weanling colt by I Am Invincible and is back in foal to him again.

Blondeau is the 77th stakes-winner for I Am Invincible, who stands at a fee of $247,500.
