Pedigree Watch – UK - More Classic Contenders

Tara Madgwick - Saturday April 16

Two more Classic trial races were run overnight at Newbury in the UK with the Group III Greenham Stakes (7f) won by last season’s Champion French 2YO Colt and the Group III Fred Darling Stakes (7f)  going to a daughter of Frankel.

The Richard Fahey trained colt Perfect Power won both the Group I Deauville Prix Morny and Newmarket Middle Park Stakes at 6f last year, but emerged triumphant at his first attempt at a slightly longer trip.

He is the flagship performer from the first crop of Kodiac’s Group II winning son Ardad.

Trained by Charley Appleby, Godolphin homebred Wild Beauty was a Group I winner at Woodbine over 1m at two and scored and easy win at her first appearance of the year.

She is bred on a nick that clicks as the Frankel x Pivotal cross runs at 24% SW to runner with six stakes-winners from 25 runners and four of them are G1 winners including the Aussie performer Hungry Heart.
