First Win for Trapeze Artist Brother

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday April 13

The full brother to Champion 3YO and promising young sire Trapeze Artist broke the ice for his first win at Hawkesbury on Wednesday.

Trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, Master Showman was seventh  in the Group III ATC Breeders Plate on debut last spring before resuming with an unplaced run on a heavy 9 track at Canterbury.

With firmer footing at Hawkesbury, he led all the way and was tenacious to the line winning the 1100m maiden by a short head.

A homebred for Bert Vieira, Master Showman is the second winner from Treppes, a half-sister by Domesday to Group I winner Crawl and stakes-winner Old Man.

He is the ninth 2YO winner of the season for Arrowfield Stud’s champion sire Snitzel.

Widden Stud's exciting young sire Trapeze Artist.

Treppes has been married to Snitzel in recent times going to him in the past five seasons and she has a weanling filly full sister to Trapeze Artist, whose first yearlings have been sold this year for up to $850,000.
