Coolmore Purchase a Snitzel colt for $1.4million to be the Early Leader at Easter Yearling Sale

Mark Smith - Tuesday April 5

After the seven-figure mark was tested several times, Coolmore's Tom Magnier set the ring alight when having the final say at $1,400,000 for Arrowfield Stud's Snitzel colt out of the Bernardini mare C'Est Beau La Vie.

The colt (lot 90) is the third foal of C'Est Beau La Vie, a Listed stakes-winning half-sister to Group III winner and Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint runner-up Jolly Roger (Lonhro) and to Listed winner Wales (Redoute's Choice).

C'Est Beau La Vie is the daughter of Group III winner Valkyrie Diva, a half-sister to the great Makybe Diva.

“He is a striking colt, probably one of the best Snitzel’s in the sale,” Tom Magner said.

"Snitzel needs no introduction - out of a Bernardini mare, which is always a positive.

"Everyone is here this week looking for colts to turn into stallions. He was one of the standouts of the sale. All the team liked him, so fingers crossed."
