Another Strong Digital Sale Concludes

Media Release - Wednesday March 30

Inglis Digital’s incomparable start to 2022 continued tonight with another boisterous sale which grossed $3,299,050.

The top lot of the March (Late) Sale was former Snowden-trained galloper Construct (I Am Invincible), who sold to Singapore trainer Jason Lim for $110,000.

Construct topped the sale at $110,000.

Offered by Newgate Farm, Construct is a Stakes placed 3YO who will now join Lim’s stables in coming weeks.

“I really love this horse’s turn of foot and how he can weave his way through traffic. He’s also run a number of placings in very good races in Australia so I think he will fit into Singapore racing very well,’’ Lim said.

“I’m a big fan of I Am Invincible, he’s a fantastic stallion but they can take some time to fully mature and as a 4YO, I think this horse’s best is absolutely still ahead of him.

“Australian horses generally acclimatise very well here so he could be racing in a matter of months.

“I’m always on Inglis Digital, like every single day, checking out each catalogue and sometimes buying as well. I love it. It’s a very easy site to understand and all the information we need is there and obviously being in Singapore, we rely on that a lot.’’

Newgate’s Henry Field believes Construct will be another successful graduate off the farm to be sold through the online platform.

“We sold Rule Of Law through Inglis Digital in April last year and he’s lining up in a TJ Smith Stakes on Saturday against the best sprinters in the land so hopefully Construct can achieve similarly lofty heights in Singapore,’’ Field said.

“Construct is just another fabulous result for us through Inglis Digital, I think everybody knows we love the platform and have been strong supporters from day one. Construct is a talented gelding who has a bright future and I’m confident he will be another successful Newgate product sold on Inglis Digital.’’

The second-top lot was the Grahame Begg-offered Seguso, who sold to Australian Bloodstock for $105,000.

The regally bred Seguso – by Redoute’s Choice out of G1 Oakleigh Plate winner Shamal Wind – will be trained by Cody Morgan in Tamworth and targeted at races such as the Kosciuszko and Country Championships.

“With the cut-off looming to have these sorts of horses locked into a stable for those races, we thought this horse suited perfectly for those sorts of races and off my ratings, he measures up to them,’’ Australian Bloodstock’s Luke Murrell said.

“He’s a horse I think could win two Highways quite easily and then progress onto a race like the Kosciuszko later this year and even if he didn’t get to that level that soon, the Country Championships next year would absolutely be the option there.’’

One of other several highlights from the March (Late) Sale was the Widden reduction, which saw 40 horses entered.

All 40 sold for a combined gross of $623,000.

“It’s been a raging success, we’re absolutely delighted by the spread of buyers on the platform from our regular supporters to buyers we haven’t had a relationship with before,’’ Widden’s Matt Comerford said.

“To gross more than $600,000 from the 40 lots offered is far beyond what we were hoping to achieve when we went through the draft individually last week so we couldn’t be happier. The entire Widden team has fielded a huge number of calls and email enquiries.

“I must thank Nick Melmeth, Steph Carruthers and the Inglis Digital team for making it such a seamless process, they were absolutely outstanding in all they did for us from helping with entries to the promotion of the draft and then to see the results eventuate today was very rewarding.

“Widden is a regular user of Inglis Digital, both as a vendor and a buyer and we look forward to every sale twice a month.’’

Inglis Digital graduates continue to perform successfully on the racetrack.

Just last weekend alone graduates of the platform won 44 races for $551,425.

Buyers’ attention now switches to the Easter Yearling Sale, which will be held at Riverside on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 5 and 6.

Inspections officially began at Riverside today and will continue right up until the sale days.
