Not a Single Doubt Building to a Big Finale

Media Release - Tuesday March 29

As his final nine Inglis Easter yearlings begin parading in Sydney, Not A Single Doubt reminds us why he is so sorely missed on the Australian stallion roster.

Friday’s Sunline S. G1 winner Shout The Bar and Saturday’s Hareeba S. LR winner Not An Option are just two of the 17 stakeswinners to fly Not A Single Doubt’s flag since his enforced retirement in January 2020.

Given that the 178 foals from his last 3 crops (now 3YOs, 2YOs and yearlings) were conceived on fees of $80,000, $90,000 and $100,000, it’s a very good bet indeed that the much-loved son of Redoute’s Choice and Singles Bar will end his stud career with a mighty bang.

It’s a long way from his first six seasons at Arrowfield, when he stood at $12,500 and took 708 days to record his first stakeswinner: the Peter Moody-trained 4YO Doubtful Jack who won the VRC Winter Championship Final LR on 10 July 2010.

Not a Single Doubt

The flow of fast, robust, no-nonsense & versatile performers has continued ever since. Not A Single Doubt’s worldwide progeny earnings now approach $150 million, he’s been a top 10 Australian sire since 2015 and a top 10 sire of juveniles for a decade.

In 2015/16 he was the nation’s leading sire of southern hemisphere-bred progeny with global prizemoney of more than $15 million, and the No. 1 sire of 3YOs.

His 79 stakeswinners (7.5% of his runners) include 16 Group 1 winners, five of them successful twice at elite level: Kenedna, Extreme Choice, Miracles Of Life, Scales Of Justice & Shout The Bar.

Not A Single Doubt’s two leading earners are Bon Ho’s Legend Stable pair, 2020 Everest winner Classique Legend ($9.3 million prizemoney) and Group 1 winner Southern  Legend ($10.7 million), based in Hong Kong for most of his career.

His record also features 14 same-day stakes doubles, two same-day stakes trebles and a remarkable four-hander  on 14 October 2017, by Mighty Boss, Cool Passion & Qafila at Caulfield, and Torvill at Randwick.

Demand for Not A Single Doubt’s progeny has soared past a $500,000 yearling average in the past two years, with 11 seven-figure sales headed by last year’s $1.8 million colt ex One More Honey – already a debut city winner and Group-placed as Man In The Mirror.  All three figures may be revised at Riverside next week.

Man in the Mirror is the highest priced Not a Single Doubt yearling ever sold.

As “Singles” farewells the Easter Sale, his sire sons and broodmare daughters are busy building his legacy.

2021 Champion First Season Sire Extreme Choice has already left Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside; Dubious has first-crop weanlings; and Anders, Doubtland & Farnan served their first mares last Spring.

Not A Single Doubt appears as the damsire of 10 stakeswinners including Hong Kong Group 1 winner Seasons Bloom and 2YO Group winners Enthaar & Shaquero. His own nine Easter  yearlings are matched by 9 lots out of his daughters, among them a Dundeel filly from Kenedna in Arrowfield’s draft.
