A Showcase of Stallion Power at Inglis Easter 2022

Media Release - Wednesday March 23

In a world suddenly facing an energy crisis, there’s one source of power that Inglis Easter yearling buyers, at least, can depend on.

That’s the Arrowfield draft, once again offering an electrifying showcase of stallion power: the Easter colts that become highly desirable stallion prospects and leading sires.

View Arrowfield’s Easter 2022 colts

Colts sold by Arrowfield at Inglis Easter since 2015 include The Autumn Sun (his first-crop yearlings have already sold up to $950,000), Pariah (two stakes performers from his first 2YO runners), Alabama Express (at Yulong Stud), Super Seth (at Waikato Stud) & Doubtland (at Widden Stud Victoria).

It took just over $3 million to purchase these five colts, who collectively earned more than $6.5 million from 14 Group wins (7 Group 1) and were then secured for stud careers in deals exceeding $65 million. That’s serious stallion power!

Other high-profile colts sold at Easter by Arrowfield are South Africa’s Champion First Season Sire Rafeef; Hong Kong Group 1 winner Stronger; Group 1 sire Beneteau; and of course, Champion Sire & leading broodmare sire Flying Spur.

This year’s Arrowfield Easter buyers are spoilt for choice. The 28 colts  include ten by four-time Champion Sire Snitzel, enjoying a stellar season himself, and emerging as a sire of sires, thanks to Shamus Award & Russian Revolution.

Five of those Snitzel colts boast Group 1-winning dams: Carry On Alice, Response (dam of G1 winner Estijaab), Politeness, Rising Romance (dam of G1 winner Yearning) & Stormy Lucy.

Dundeel, already with sons Castelvecchio & Super Seth at stud, has eight Arrowfield colts including the first foals of Group 1 winner Maid of Heaven, multiple Group winner Whispering Brook and Tides, the sister to Shoals from Redoute’s Choice’s family; as well as the half-brother of G1-winning colt Profondo, out of Honesty Prevails.

The success of Champion First Season Sire Extreme Choice and recent stud deals done on four other Not A Single Doubt colts – including Arrowfield graduates Anders & Doubtland – make the four Easter colts from his final crop unmissable.

Arrowfield has two of them, out of the Scat Daddy mare Run to the Beat, and Miss Salinger, from the family of Monterosso & Silent Sedition.

The Autumn Sun has a stellar selection of yearlings for Inglis Easter.

The Stud also offers two colts by 5-time Group 1 winner The Autumn Sun, both with the kind of page that makes top-flight performers and juicy stallion prospects. The Believe Yourself colt boasts a 2YO Group-winning dam and a Champion 2YO 3rd dam; while the Mantra of Life colt is from the family of influential sire Machiavellian.

With only two crops of racing age, Maurice has already sired one of this season’s hottest stud prospects, the Arrowfield-bred dual Classic winner Hitotsu. That sharpens the likely interest in the three Maurice colts Arrowfield will present at Riverside Stables next week, among them the impressive first foal of Maracas (by Snitzel), from the family of Group 1 winners Inspiration, Wandjina & Dracula.
