Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Monday March 14

We were back on the grass at the Warwick Farm trials on Monday morning with five heats for two year-olds that saw the reappearance of an Exceed and Excel filly that was showing plenty of promise last spring and a Not a Single Doubt filly long overdue for a win.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained filly Pantonario has had three starts for third placings in the Group III ATC Gimcrack behind Coolangatta, a Kensington 2YO race behind Fireburn and Revolutionary Miss and then in the Group III ATC Widden Stakes behind Queen of the Ball and Revolutionary Miss.

Given that all of those fillies are now running in the Golden Slipper, Pantonario will no doubt start a short price when she goes back to the races and does hold an entry for the Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes.

Also with an entry for the Percy Sykes is the Bjorn Baker trained Ginger’s Gal, who has been to the trials three times now for three wins.

Bred and sold by Yulong, Ginger’s Gal is a half-sister to Group III winner Irukandji and her Group II placed dam Cerberus Gal has had five to race all winners with this daughter of Exceed and Excel likely to be her sixth.

Other heat winners were: King of Naples (Your Song), Zou Tiger (Zoustar) and Gulf of Lion (Thronum).
