Sirileo Miss Flying the Flag for Miranda Park

A thriving thoroughbred agistment and breeding farm at Hesket in the Macedon Ranges, Miranda Park has been consigning yearlings in recent years to Inglis Premier and has achieved notable success with quality Group winning mare Sirileo Miss.

Bred by Gary O’Meara of Miranda Park and sold though their Premier draft in 2019 for $60,000 to Wilde Racing, the daughter of Pride of Dubai proved a natural runner and has the impressive record of five wins and three placings from 10 starts with prizemoney topping $360,000.

Her trainer Symon Wilde has had plenty of luck with another Miranda Park homebred in three year-old filly Destiny Diamond, who has won four of seven starts earning over $100,000 and claimed her first metro win at Moonee Valley earlier this month.

Sirileo Miss scored a highlight win in the Group III MRC Ladies Day Vase last spring and looks to have many more wins in store with her half-brother an obvious highlight of the Miranda Park draft this year.

Lot 225 Colt Merchant Navy from She's Sirius, by Galileo

“He’s bred on the incredible Fastnet Rock x Galileo cross and is out of exceptional producer, She’s Sirius,” said Gary O’Meara.

“Everything out of the mare has won with seven foals to race all winners with Sirileo Miss her best followed by stakes-placed Sophia’s Choice, metro winner Coys and gun Hong Kong  sprinter Dragon Pioneer.

“Blessed with a wonderful temperament, his physique is reminiscent of his sire, and he has unmistakable attributes from Rory’s Jester.”

Miranda Park are proud to present a draft of seven for Inglis Premier with the remainder as listed below with comments from Gary O'Meara:

Lot 146 Colt Toronado (IRE) x Paradanza, by Danehill Dancer (IRE)

Quality colt with a great action, bred on the highly successful Toronado x Danehill Dancer cross that has produced two stakes-winners in Europe. Second foal of Paradanza, a Moonee Valley class record holder over 2040m, this colt has good scope and strength – he looks a middle-distance star in the making.

Lot 202 Colt Star Turn x Ruling Queen, by Shaft

This is a sharp, running colt out of six time winner Ruling Queen, a half-sister to stakes-winner Court Connection from stakes-winner Imperatrix.  Correct, and well-muscled, he has a lovely shoulder and great angles. He’s a late foal (November 21) that will keep improving, but still looks like he could go early.

Lot 393 Colt Capitalist x Booralee, by Fastnet Rock

A correct, beautifully proportioned colt with plenty of leg, by the great Capitalist, out of Fastnet Rock mare Booralee. He’s tall, like the best horses in the family, with Menari being the obvious example. He has an incredible length of stride, with fluency that you’d expect from a colt with such an athletic physique.

Lot 620 Colt Puissance De Lune (IRE) x Misverdot, by Anabaa (USA)

Bred on the successful Puissance De Lune, Danzig cross, this colt has strength, balance and athleticism. He has been a very rewarding colt to prepare, having shown continual physical improvement, and a great attitude to his work. He has a super appetite, is very tractable, and most importantly, he looks fast!

Lot 621 Colt National Defense (GB) x Monaliesha, by Monashee Mountain (USA)

By the champion son of Invincible Spirit, National Defense, who has already sired a Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf winner in Twilight Gleaming. There is plenty of two year old success throughout this pedigree, and his second dam is by Rory’s Jester. He has extraordinary strength, especially through his hindquarters – it will be no surprise to see this colt in the early two year old races.

Lot 679 Colt Spieth x Silk Belt by Alamosa

If you are looking for a straightforward, correct colt with a great action, then this is the colt for you. He has made fantastic progress throughout the prep, and his even temper has made him a favourite of the staff. Second foal of a Group placed two year old and is from the second crop of scintillating sprinter Spieth, there’s a lot to like about this colt.
