Stakes Goals for Your Song Filly

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday September 20
Torryburn Stud have been enjoying a great run of success with their homebred sprinter Deploy and were back in the winner's circle at Warwick Farm on Wednesday with talented Your Song filly Memento.

Placed second twice last season at two before running a brave third in the Group III ATC Magic Night Stakes behind Tulip and Alizee, Memento looked well overdue to break her maiden and did so in style.

Your SongThe Anthony and Edward Cummings trained filly was sent forward to stalk the pace and had way too much class for her rivals in the run to the line winning the 1100 metre maiden by a length and a half.

"She's a really nice filly, but has always done a few things wrong," said Anthony Cummings.

"The barrier blanket has made a difference, she had a good start today and was very professional. It's probably the first time she's got it altogether.

"I think she can go into better races and be effective. There are some nice Listed races here coming up and she could easily end up in Melbourne."

Bred and retained to race by Torryburn Stud, Memento is a half-sister to stakes-placed Cinematic and is the fourth winner from stakes-winner Snapshots, a full sister to the dam of triple Group I winner Sea Siren and Group winners Lady Dehere and Oracy.

Memento is the last foal of Snapshots, who died in 2014, so will be a lovely broodmare for Torryburn Stud going forward to replace her mother.

Memento is the 18th first crop winner for Widden Stud's super successful young sire Your Song, who goes from strength to strength and will cover a full book this spring at a fee of $22,000.
