Hat-Trick for Your Song’s Bergen

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 15
Brought to town on Wednesday for the first time after scoring easy wins at his first two starts at the provincials was the John O'Shea trained three year-old Bergen, a close relation of this season's smart Group III winner Gem Song.

Your SongThe son of Your Song kept his unbeaten record intact with another stylish victory at Warwick Farm. He travelled just off the pace for Billy Owen and surged to the line to win the 1300 metre Benchmark 66 event by more than a length over Zoustar gelding Plenty.

Bergen was a modest $35,000 Magic Millions National Yearling Sale Book Two purchase from the Riversdale Farm draft for Domeland and has already won back his purchase price banking over $55,000 in winning his first three starts.

Bred by Gooree Stud, Bergen is the fourth winner from four foals to race from Moti, a stakes-winning daughter of AJC Derby winner Don Eduardo from the family of Group II winner Beautiful Gem, who is the dam of Your Song's current Group III winning three year-old Gem Song.

Widden Stud's Your Song is priced affordably this spring at $13,750.
