Bookies are expecting a Stampede from punters betting on Saturday's MRC Foundation Cup.

The race offers a Caulfield Cup ballot exemption to the winner and a field of 16 stayers has accepted for the $150,000 contest.

Stampede was a comfortable first-up winner at Moonee Valley on September 9 and has opened as short as $4.20 to notch his third stakes win for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

Abbey Marie is the second pick at prices between $5.50 and $6.50 after her last-start second in the Group II Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley.

Amelie’s Star is either a $7 or $7.50 chance while Samovare, another last-start Moonee Valley winner, is trading at quotes from $7.50 to $9.

Below is a comparison of the early markets on Saturday’s MRC Foundation Cup.
