We listed Paret as a horse to follow after his jumpout at Flemington on May 1. Subsequently spelled by trainer Chris Waller, the three-year-old debuted at Canterbury last Wednesday and won impressively at $9.

Friday saw 11 heats over 800m on the inside grass, starting from the 800m and on the rail with the first two heats over 1400m, starting from the 1400m, the track riding in the good(4) range.

Racenet has highlighted three horses it could pay for punters to follow in the coming weeks.

WILL'S BID

Broke smartly and settled straight on the lead in heat 11. Travelled strongly all the way under Regan Bayliss, the Stephen Brown-trained Mr Walker slapped up off the bend to stay in touch with this pair pulling well clear and through the line in 48.22 seconds. Highly tried last season, finishing well beaten in the Blue Diamond Stakes but this Fastnet Rock half-brother to Starspangledbanner can gallop and is well placed for Lindsay Park Racing to exploit his rating of 61.

Career (5-1:0:0)

MARIA ELISA

Jumped from the middle of the field in heat 12 and quickly settled on the lead, two lengths clear off the bend and still on the bridle as the chasing pack came under pressure. Defeated the Lindsay Park Racing-trained Sia by a neck in 48.08 seconds but under a big hold and the first two some seven lengths clear. Showed nice ability last preparation and has clearly retained it. Only rated 63 so trainer Mike Moroney has some room to move,

Career (2-1:0:0)

ELLICAZOOM

Group class filly trained by Neville Parnham who shaped well in heat four, won easily by the blinkered Faatinah in 46.27 seconds. Settled second and not pressed to chase, Ellicazoom beat the others as comfortably as Faatinah beat her but she went through the line three lengths clear of the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Linguist and still well on the bridle. She might be hard to place but she looks sure to be competitive in the better mare races.

Career (10-2:5:0)
