MM Wyong 2YO Classic Sale Mail

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday December 15

A full field of 14 two year-olds plus emergencies have accepted for the $200,000 Magic Millions Wyong Classic (1100m) on Wednesday, the race promising to deliver a great spectacle with so many talented youngsters engaged including an expensive purchase for Godolphin.

In 2018, the Godolphin team brought Snitzel filly Exhilarates to Wyong for this race and although beaten into second place by Unite and Conquer, she rebounded to win her next start in Queensland and then take out the $2million Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

Alice Through as a yearling

This year they will pin their hopes on another filly by champion sire Snitzel in Alice Through, a $600,000 MM purchase from the Strawberry Hill draft.

Alice Through looked well above herself when a fast finishing third on debut behind stablemate Vianello over 900m at Newcastle on December 1 and James Cummings will no doubt have her tightened up a good deal further for this assignment.

Alice Through certainly has a Magic Millions pedigree as she is a full sister to Chauffeur, who was second in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and is a three-quarter sister to No Looking Back, who won the race in 2012, but then lost it in the steward’s room to her stablemate Driefontein.

Her dam Mirror Mirror won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in 2006, so it would only be fitting to see Alice Through take her place in the field for 2021.
