First Stakes Winner for Rich Enuff

Mark Smith - Saturday July 4

After making a winning debut at Doomben back in February to become the first winner for her sire Rich Enuff, the Chris Anderson-trained filly Plutocrat earned the honour of being her sire’s first stakes-winner with a courageous performance in Saturday’s Listed Tattersall's Club Stakes at Eagle Farm.

It's close but Plutocrat earns a maiden stakes win for Rich Enuff (Racing Queensland)

Following her debut win, Plutocrat was the victim of bad barriers in three subsequent runs, which included a second in the Listed Bill Carter Stakes at Doomben.

After drawing the inside barrier on Saturday, everything fell into place. With Michael Cahill in the saddle, Plutocrat did best in a titanic battle with the Sydneysider Zero To Hundred (So You Think) who came from last with a rails-hugging ride by James Orman to miss by a nose.

Tumbler Ridge (Spill The Beans) was a long-neck back in third.

Purchased by Anderson Heathcote Racing for $110,000 out of the Glenlogan Park draft at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, Plutocrat is raced by Glenlogan Park’s Jon Haseler.

“It was a very deserved win. A big thank you to Glenlogan Park’s Jon Hassler and Steve Morley,” Anderson said.

“She has been luckless this filly. She ha s been luckless this filly. She had not been able to draw a gate her entire career and we have had to press forward, like she did when winning on debut. Subsequent to that we have been forced to go back and given almost impossible assignments.

“She drew the right gate today and Mick gave her a gun ride.

“She has a stack of upside. She's a big leggy filly that has plenty of scope. Time will be an asset and she should come back as a beautiful  three-year-old that should relish the mile."

Plutocrat is the best of two winners from three to race out of the winning Danzero mare Personal Guarantee.

Ross Hatton’s Rathmore Bloodstock purchased Personal Guarantee for a client with a Real Saga colt at foot in early 2019.

The now yearling colt was sold for just $10,000 out of the Rathmore Lodge draft at the Adelaide Magic Millions.

Personal Guarantee descends from the family renowned Eight Carat family that features the recent Group 1 ATC Vinery Stud Stakes and Group 1 Australian Oaks winner Verry Elleegant.

After missing in 2018, Personal Guarantee was covered by Star Witness last spring.

Rich Enuff won three black-type races, highlighted by the Group II Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington where he defeated subsequent Group 1 winners Brazen Beau and Wandjina.

The son of Written Tycoon stands at Woodside Park Stud in 2020 at a fee of $8,800.
