Juvenile Trial Watch – Randwick

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 9

Five heats for juveniles at Randwick on Thursday produced plenty of interesting winners including an expensive I Am Invincible colt carrying the China Horse Club Colours and blue-blooded colt by Written Tycoon.

Rulership was having his third trial and really only asked to do something over the last furlong and responded well to race clear of another blue-blood in Prague, the  three-quarter brother to dual Group I winner Stratum Star.

Rulership is a full brother to Group III placed Jedastar from stakes-winner Devoirs.

The winner here came down from Tamworth for his first trial and not hard to see why as he’s a natural runner. Jumped fast and led under a hold and although the field were closing late it was a good effort. Breeders Plate winner Global Quest hit the line hard under a big hold and was never asked to chase, just doing it under his own steam.

The winner looks a lot like Written Tycoon’s star two year-old colt Written By and came out of the same sale being sourced from Inglis Premier. He is the first foal of a fast Melbourne metro winning daughter of Group III winner La Rumba.

Written Tycoon also had the next heat with blue-blooded colt Supremo, from Oaks winner Dizelle, showing loads of talent at his first trial. Supremo stumbled slightly at the start but recovered well to surge forward albeit very wide and kept extending to the line to win in good style.

He’s a half-brother to six winners including VRC Oaks winner Pinot, stakes winner Dizlago and two more stakes-placed horses so it’s hard not to think this colt will be winning races and probably very good races.
