Frankel's Miss Fabulass Returns to Form

Mark Smith - Saturday November 23

The royally-bred Frankel mare Miss Fabulass came with a barnstorming finish to earn her second stakes win in Saturday’s Listed The Spirit Of Boom Classic (1200m) at Doomben.

Ridden by Andrew Mallyon for trainer Kris Lees, Miss Fabulass flew in the last 200 metres to defeat Improvement (Swiss Ace) by a neck with Jadentom (Rothesay) a half-length back in third.

The 4yo mare has been a disappointment since winning the Group II Tea Rose Stakes at Randwick in September last year.

Her return to form advances her record to 3 wins and 1 second from 11 starts with earnings of $262,690.

Miss Fabulass races for her breeder, John Singleton's Strawberry Hills Stud who paid $3.85 million for her triple Group 1 winning dam Samantha Miss at the 2009 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale, making her the second-highest priced mare ever sold in Australia at the time.

She is the fourth foal, and the fourth winner for Samantha Miss, who has a 3yo colt by Medaglia D'Oro (USA) named Geo to follow, as well as a 2yo colt by Medaglia D'Oro (USA) named Sammy.

After slipping to Sebring in 2017, Samantha Miss was back on the plane for another date with Frankel and she foaled a filly by the undefeated champion son of Galileo on October 20.
