Debut Winner for Hallowed Crown

The Group I ATC Golden Rose winner of 2014, Hallowed Crown retired to Darley at the end of his career and produced a smart debut winner at Warrnambool on Thursday.

Hallowed CrownTrained on the track by Daniel Bowman, Crowned Lizzie was well fancied and ran right up to expectation when scoring a three-quarter length win in the 1100 metre maiden.

She settled last in the field of five but unwound a big finish and was doing her best work on the line.

A $45,000 Inglis Premier purchase for her trainer from the Mill Park draft, Crowned Lizzie was bred by Mill Park and is a half-sister to Group I placed Platinum Balos.

She is the third winner from More Than Ready (USA) mare Lassie MacTavish, a full sister to stakes-placed Ready to Mombo and Yatala.

Crowned Lizzie is the eighth first crop winner for Hallowed crown and is his second this season.

The dual Group I winning son of Street Sense (USA) stands at Darley NSW at a fee of $11,000.

Winner of both the Group I Queensland Derby and Oaks in 1999, blue-blooded Danehill (USA) mare Camarena died in 2017 and her last foal became a winner at Newcastle on Tuesday for Darley’s promising young sire Hallowed Crown.
