Zoustyle Trial Excites

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 13
Tony Gollan has been ever so patient with his talented Zoustar gelding Zoustyle, but the gloves might be about to come off with a nine length trial win at Doomben on Tuesday morning signalling a big campaign ahead.

ZoustyleWith six wins in as many starts, four year-old Zoustyle has never tasted defeat, but has largely taken soft options with his only Black Type success a minor Listed victory last December.

Zoustyle went straight to the lead in an 840m heat and wanted to go faster in the back straight. When Brad Stewart let him slide, Zoustyle surged away and he smashed his rivals to win by nine lengths.
Zoustyle's winning time was 48.59secs, easily the quickest of the morning, and he ran his final 600m in 33.31.

Zoustyle is a $15 chance for the Everest although he is yet to gain a slot and Gollan will give him a jumpout in Brisbane in the next few weeks before he resumes in the Group III ATC Concorde Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on September 7, a race that will really see what this rising star sprinter is made of.

His sire Zoustar is fully booked this spring at Widden Stud at the increased fee of $154,000 and already has an Everest contender in Sunlight.
