New SW for Zebedee

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 5
Cornerstone Stud's dashing grey shuttler Zebedee (GB) added a new stakes-winner to his tally overnight when Major Jumbo captured the Listed Queensferry Stakes at Chester in the UK.

ZebedeeThe five year-old gelding scored a career best win when racing away to win the six furlong sprint by more than three lengths as a hot favourite.

"Major Jumbo ran a cracker in this race last year when he was just touched off," said winning rider Kevin Stott.

"He had a good draw, jumped quickly and travelled well and there was no stopping him. He's been running well all year in better races and I'd say he's definitely up to winning a Group 3."

Trained by Kevin Ryan, Major Jumbo has the overall record of seven wins and 16 placings from 30 starts and is the ninth stakes-winner for Zebedee who stands at Cornerstone Stud at a fee of $9,900.

He is the best of four winners from Mizzen Mast mare Gone Sailing from the family of classy weight-for-age performer Foreteller (GB), the winner of three Group I events in Australia.
