30 2YO Winners for Zebedee

Media Release - Friday November 24
The win of Mouchee on 20th of November at Wolverhampton may have seemed like a routine 2yo maiden race, however it carried far more significance than that.

The dashing bay colt by Cornerstone Stud's exciting young shuttler Zebedee (GB) gave his sire his 30th individual 2yo winner of the season, and in doing so, showed just how much speed and precocity Zebedee imbues into his progeny.

ZebedeeNow in his 4th season of runners, Zebedee has averaged just under 29 individual 2yo winners per season throughout his career. For the 2017 season, Zebedee sits in the top four leading 2yo sires in Europe by winners.

The only three to better Zebedee are Champion sires Dubawi, Dark Angel and this years world record breaker Kodiac.

In fact, Zebedee's 2yo winners to runners ratio (47.62%) is only a fraction less than that of Kodiac's (47.79%).

Only Dubawi has a better 2yo winners to runners ratio (55.56%)in the top 10.

This means Zebedee has more individual 2yo winners with a better 2yo winners to runners ratio than the likes of Galileo (23 winners at 41.82%), Exceed And Excel (19 winners at 40.43%), Excelebration (16 winners at 35.56%), Invincible Spirit (15 winners at 31.25%), Frankel (13 winners at 44.83%) and Choisir (12 winners at 37.50%).

Next year looks to be a landmark year for Zebedee as well.

The return of Barraquero, a Gr. 2 winning 2yo this season, has many excited to see just how much he has improved and to what heights he can get.

On top of all this Zebedee's first crop of southern hemisphere yearlings are set to hit the sales ring, with three quality colts due to be sold at Magic Millions in January.

A further three Zebedee yearlings are going to the Inglis Classics sale the following month.

All this is a lead up to Zebedee having his first runners this time next year. It truly is an exciting time for this ghostly grey son of Invincible Spirit. of Invincible Spirit.
