Impressive Winner for Dissident

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 3
It was always anticipated that the progeny of Australian Horse of the Year Dissident might take a little while to hit their stride and as we move to towards the end of the season, the son of Sebring is churning out a steady stream of winners with the Tony Gollan trained Ingear winning on debut in brilliant fashion at Ipswich on Wednesday.

Ingear as a yearlingThe only juvenile in the maiden plate over 1200 metres taking on older rivals, Ingear was a hot favourite and proved the confidence of punters was well justified when she opened up to win by four and a half lengths.

It was a commanding win and gave promise of far better things to come as her career unfolds.

A $150,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Vinery Stud draft for Gollan Racing/John Foote Bloodstock, Ingear is the first winner for Cacophany, an Elusive Quality (USA) half-sister to Group II placed Sean Baile Mor from an international Black Type family.

She was bred by Paul Maguire, who will be hoping this is the start of something good for Ingear as her dam Cacophany has a Dissident weanling filly and is back in foal to him again.

Ingear is the eighth winner for Dissident, who has been super popular with breeders covering over 800 mares in his first four seasons and stands at Newgate this spring at $27,500.
