Debut Canterbury Winner for Hallowed Crown

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday June 19
Bred and retained to race by Gooree Stud, dual Group I winner and promising young sire Hallowed Crown provided Gooree with a promising debut two year-old winner at Canterbury on Wednesday in Rule the World.

Hallowed CrownTrained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Rule the World was a two time trial winner last month and showed the benefit of that experience when racing straight to the front after jumping from an outside gate.

He led all the way and kicked on to win the 1100 metre maiden by three-quarters of a length.

A homebred for Gooree, Rule the World is the second winner from Danehill Dancer (IRE) mare Pay Off No, a three-quarter sister to Gooree's former brilliant Group III winning filly Gamble Me.

Rule the World is the third Australian winner for Hallowed Crown, who also has one winner in Singapore and one in the Northern Hemisphere in the UK.

A top class winner of the Group I ATC Golden Rose and Randwick Guineas, Hallowed Crown was retired to Darley at the end of his racing career and the son of Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense (USA) stands at a fee of $11,000 this spring at Darley in the Hunter Valley.
