Sir Prancealot Weanlings Find Favour

Tara Madgwick - Monday June 17
Cornerstone Stud have been delighted with the response to the first Australian bred weanlings by their proven stakes producing shuttle sire Sir Prancealot (IRE) that have been offered for sale in recent weeks selling for up to $62,000 at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale.

$62,000 Sir Prancealot colt from Native RhythmRenowned bloodstock agent Paul Willetts is known for his ability to hone in on quality weanlings that develop into successful pinhooks and often high class racehorses.

He was greatly impressed with the Sir Prancealot stock and paid $62,000 for a colt from Native Rhythm offered by Cornerstone Stud. He is the third foal of a winning Al Maher daughter of Group III winner Native Song.

"I really like them! He is doing a really good job in the Northern Hemisphere and I like what I have seen here (Great Southern Sale)," Willetts said.

Dave Mee of Pinhook Bloodstock is another fan of Sir Prancealot having purchased Cornerstone Stud's colt from Margiela for $50,000 at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on the Gold Coast last month and another colt from Abdaan offered at Inglis Great Southern by Cornerstone Stud for $22,500.

"I really like them! I have bought two this sales season," Mee said.

Cornerstone Stud celebrate the launch of Sir Prancealot"Overall they carry themselves well, have great heads on them, look to have great natural balance on their feet and they move well. I was Impressed!"

Sir Prancealot weanlings have been sold to some of the industry's best pin-hookers like Paul Willetts, John Chalmers, Redbank North, John North (Bowness) and Dave Mee providing a very satisfying outcome for the team at Cornerstone Stud.

Completely free of Danehill blood, Sir Prancealot is a great option as an outcross sire and it's interesting to note his two top selling weanlings sold for $62,000 and $50,000 are both from Danehill line mares.

Sir Prancealot returns to Cornerstone Stud this spring for his third season at a fee of $14,300 and covered 110 mares last year.
