High Hopes for Hinchinbrook Filly

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday June 11
Astute trainer Mark Newnham has high hopes for the two year-old half-sister to his Group I VRC Oaks runner-up Greysful Glamour.

Celestial Falls as a yearlingHinchinbrook filly Celestrial Falls scored a tenacious win at Randwick on Monday over 1550 metres, showing the sort of potential at her third start that has her trainer thinking about the spring.

"I will give her a little break now and then give her a chance at the spring because she is one of those fillies similar to her half sister that will have no trouble running a trip," he said.

"She has got the right attitude and right constitution so I think we have some exciting times ahead with her.

"Her and Greysful Glamour both have a beautiful nature and it must come from mum because they are very similar bar the colour.

"That's what will help her early in the spring when we ask her to stay."

Celestial Falls was a modest $80,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Edinglassie Stud draft for Darby Racing/ De Burgh Equine and is second winner from Rippled (GB), a winning Dalakhani mare from the family of European Group I winners Crystal Music and Zelzal.

She is the ninth two year-old winner this season for Yarraman Park's much missed sire Hinchinbrook.
