Brilliant Debut Winner for Rubick

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday May 21
Prepared by Anthony Freedman, talented Rubick colt Wilmot Pass scored a sparkling debut victory at Moe on Tuesday.

RubickThe handsome bay raced up on the pace and powered clear for Jamie Kah to win the 1114 metre maiden as he pleased by three and a half lengths.

"Leading into today, we were confident of a good performance, he jumped out well so it's pleasing to see him bring that form race day," said Sam Freedman.
"We will make a decision on where he goes next when we get home, we could look for a city race or give him a short break now and bring him back for the spring."

Wilmot Pass was a modest $35,000 Magic Millions purchase for North South Bloodstock from the Edinglassie draft and is the third winner from stakes-placed Volksraad (GB) mare Manapouri.

Wilmot Pass is the 11th first crop winner for Rubick, who has had a fee increase this year and stands at Coolmore at $38,500.
