10 out of 10 for Mica’s Pride

Tara Madgwick - Thursday February 28
Remarkable producer Mica's Pride, the dam of Group I superstars Criterion and Comin' Through, made it 10 winners from 10 foals to race when three year-old Fastnet Rock gelding Sir Owen saluted at Wyong on Thursday.

Sir Owen, minutes after being born at Willow Park in 2015Retained to race by Sir Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock, Sir Owen is trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, who elected to have the horses gelded earlier this year after three starts in 2018 that yielded one minor placing.

Sent out a hot favourite for the 1200 metre maiden after finishing second at his first run back from a spell, Sir Owen showed he had his mind on the job when bolting clear to win by more than two lengths.

Foaled at Willow Park in 2015, he is a full brother to Group I BRC Doomben Cup winner Comin' Through and half-brother to $7million earner Criterion, Group II winner Varenna Miss and stakes-winner Silently.

Turning 21 this year, Mica's Pride has a yearling filly by Sebring and was covered last spring by Russian Revolution.
