Winning Debut for $1.8 Million Purchase

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday February 12
A full brother to Australian Horse of the Year Lankan Rupee, four year-old Redoute's Choice stallion Regal Stage made a winning debut at Gosford on Tuesday.

Regal Stage Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Regal Stage was a hot favourite following a recent trial win and raced up to expectation when cruising home to win by more than a length in the 1200 metre maiden.

Regal Stage (image Steve Hart) was a $1.8 million Inglis Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft for Gai Waterhouse Racing / J Blaxland / Nordic Racing & Breeding and is from Group III winner Estelle Collection, who was bought by Coolmore for $1.4 million at the 2014 Teeley Assets Dispersal at Magic Millions.

Coolmore retained the current two year-old filly by Fastnet Rock from Estelle Collection and Art Collection has already gained Black Type with a placing last spring in the Group III VRC Maribyrnong Plate and the yearling colt from Estelle Collection by Fastnet Rock is entered for Inglis Easter as Lot 446.
