A $350,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell, three year-old Exceed and Excel filly Nafaayes went on her winning way at Turrfontein in South Africa on Saturday taking out the Group II Gauteng Fillies Guineas.

A last start winner of the Group II Ipi Tombe Stakes in December, the Mike de Kock trained filly scored a narrow victory as favourite in the 1600 metre feature.

Nafaayes took her overall record to four wins and two placings from just six starts.

Bred and consigned for sale by Kia Ora Stud, Nafaayes is the first winner for US Group III winner Decelerator (USA), a daughter of leading shuttle sire Dehere.

Decelerator has a two year-old filly by Snitzel and her current yearling is a colt by More Than Ready (USA) that made $200,000 for Kia Ora Stud at the Magic Millions.


Kia Ora Stud had a good Saturday as well having also bred and sold impressive I Am Invincible filly Loving Gaby, winner of the Group III MRC Chairmans Stakes on debut in Melbourne.


Nafaayes was one of two Group winners on Saturday for Darley's champion sire Exceed and Excel, who was also represented by exciting two yea-old colt McLaren, winner of the Group III ATC Canonbury Stakes.
