Rubick

Second on debut earlier this month, the Karen Kerlsey trained Rubic Rose improved sharply to turn the tables on Beethoven, the horse who beat her at her last start.

She was quick to lead from barrier one and strode clear to win the 1100 metre dash by a length and a half.

Passed in as a yearling, Rubic Rose is the first winner for Kyoto, a winning half-sister by Gonski to Group I winner Pillaging.

Rubick also had Krameric finish a close up third in the Group III BRC BJ McLachlan Stakes at Doomben capping off a great day for the young son of Encosta de Lago
